Brave Horse Wrap Up...
/Brave Horse VI proved to be a trip of a few inaugural things… The drive there itself was one of the most stressful I’ve personally experienced and for the first time in 30 plus years only 1 hour after our departure Brian turned the truck and trailer back home. Lucky appeared to have a “young” horse moment, a panic attack in the trailer sustained what appeared to be only superficial injuries but proved enough to not be able to show. The remainder of the drive was uneventful and after our delayed arrival we were pleasantly surprised by the wonderful facility and well managed show.
The horse show banner once again collected all the rewards of SHi riders and horses reflecting their best efforts. A huge congrats to the inaugural duo, Pam and Liam for their win in the Ariat Adult Medal AND the Adult Hunter Classic. Award highlights include Alice and Apollo bringing home 1, 2 and 3rd place ribbons in their respective Medium and High Jumpers, Lauren and D captured 3, 5 and 6th placings in their Medium and Low/Child Adult Jumpers, the inaugural duo of Libby and Heartrock were awarded with a 6th placing in the Intermediate Adult Jumpers and Aila and Sandro dabbled in the Low Child/Adult Jumpers with a 4th placing. Due to the late hour of the show finishing on Sunday we did not get the customary picture of the banner and its respective supporters. After our stressful trip there we were more than eager to hit the road home and pulled it off with a 3.5 hour drive home.
Brave Horse is hoping to put on another show in October, the weekend of the 17th and 18th to be exact. We are waiting for their USEF approval to make plans for our return!
